Is Miracle Movers a door to door moving service?

Yes, we pick up and deliver your belongings on a door to door basis.

How long does it take to move belongings from different sized homes?

While every move is unique, certain types of homes typically fall within these average time frames:
1 Bedroom Apartment = 2 - 4 hours
2-3 Bedroom Condo = 3 - 6 hours
2-3 Bedroom House = 5 - 8 hours
Please remember that these are only estimates. These calculations have been based on moves handled by two movers, or three for three bedroom houses. You can decrease the amount of time your moving project takes by packing yourself. Relocation time also depends on the distance between the pickup site and final destination, as well as any inclement weather, road, and traffic conditions.

When do you start billing time?

The moment our truck arrives at your residence, our billing time begins. You’ll be charged our hourly rate up until all of your belongings have been unloaded at the destination site and any final set-ups have been completed.

Do your movers take breaks?

Every 2 hours, our movers are permitted one 15 minute break. All break time is included in the billing time at our standard hourly rate. If your moving project lasts longer than 4 hours, our movers are allowed one 30 minute break for lunch. This 30 minute break will not be included in the billing time.

Do you require a minimum charge?

Yes. Miracle Movers’ policy is to charge for two hours of work at a minimum. If your move exceeds this two hour minimum, you will then be billed in half-hour installments at half of our hourly rate. Exceptions only apply to special-case moves that are being charged on a fixed-price basis.

What is travel time?

Travel time is a flat-rate that is determined by the amount of time it takes to drive our moving truck from our office to your moving site, and back to our office from your final destination. This fee helps us cover the cost of traveling to your sites, but does not apply to the driving time from your moving site to your final destination. At the end of your move, the travel time fee will be added to charges incurred through billed time.

At what time can I pay?

We require all payments to be made before our moving truck has been completely unloaded of your belongings. The foreman of the moving crew will process your payment.

What payment methods are accepted?

Miracle Movers accepts only cash, major credit cards and Interac email money transfers. We cannot process payments through personal or company checks. Exceptions must be approved by our office prior to the day of your move.

Are there any discounts available?

We offer seniors a 5% discount on their moving projects, and offer other deals for our different client types from time to time. Please contact us to find out more about our current and upcoming promotions.

Will my furniture be protected during transport?

Yes, we wrap all furniture with professional grade, cushioned moving blankets. There is no extra charge for this service.

Am I responsible for packing my belongings?

We offer packing services if you are unable to pack on your own. We advise you to arrange for packing services prior to your moving day to allow for plenty of time. All time spent by our movers packing your items will be billed according to our standard hourly rate. Packing all of your belongings and being ready to go upon the arrival of our movers will help save you money.

Do you sell packing materials?

Yes. We can provide you all materials necessary for packing your belongings, including boxes, bubble wrap, tape, and more at low prices. Additionally, we offer packing services if you do not wish to pack your belongings yourself.

Is Miracle Movers insured?

Yes, we are insured by State Farm Insurance. Any damaged or lost belongings in our transport are covered by Basic Liability Coverage. The value of your belongings is determined by a standard 60 cents per pound rate. The monetary value of individual belongings are not recognized by this type of coverage. If you file a claim, the payment you receive will only be calculated by 60 cents for every pound of the damaged or lost item’s weight. We advise you to purchase separate insurance for valuable belongings so that their monetary value can be covered.

Are the trucks used owned by Miracle Movers?

Yes, but we do retain the right to use rented trucks in the event of a breakdown in our fleet.

What do I need to do if my move must be rescheduled?

Please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a new moving date. The more notice given, the more easily we can accommodate your needs. If you cancel your move within 3 days of your scheduled date, we charge a fee of $60.

When can I schedule my move?

The earlier, the better. We advise you to contact us at least 15 days before your preferred day of moving to allow for easy scheduling. If this is impossible, we will do our best to accommodate last minute moving arrangements. Our ability to do so depends on our availability at the time and date of your move.

When can I expect the movers to arrive at my pickup and destination sites?

We typically begin our pickups between 8-9AM and arrive at the agreed appointment time scheduled. You can expect a call to confirm the arrival time one business day before your move. Morning arrivals may be delayed by up to an hour, and afternoon arrivals up to 3 hours, due to extenuating circumstances or bad traffic conditions. Any delays will be communicated to you promptly.

What is your policy regarding overtime?

Any time spent over 10 labor hours on one assignment will be viewed as overtime and therefore be subject to overtime fee. Overtime fees will increase your hourly rate by 50%. A moving crew cannot be forced to work over 12 labor hours on one assignment.

Is there an extra fee for stairs?

This is dependent upon the layout of the pickup and delivery locations, as well as the weight and amount of all belongings that must be carried. To receive an estimate, contact your Miracle Movers relocation consultant and describe the previously stated conditions of your situation.

Am I required to be present during the pickup?

Yes. It is more helpful for all parties involved if you are present to identify what items and boxes must be moved, require special handling, and provide any other pertinent information. It is also essential for you to confirm the inventory compiled by our moving crew, which consists of documenting all items, packages, and their conditions prior to transportation. Your signature is required on the Inventory Agreement, validating that you acknowledge all inventory details to be correct. Upon delivery, you will also be required to confirm that all inventory items have arrived in the same condition. This is important for any insurance claims you may make for lost or damaged goods. If you are unable to be present, please arrange for someone familiar with your belongings to act as your representative.

How can I prepare my children for the move?

Discussing the move honestly and often with your children will help to ease their feelings of anxiety. It is especially important to discuss how they feel about the move, and take note of its effects on their emotions and behavior. Moving can be very stressful to children, which is why it’s helpful to maintain familiar routines and keep their favorite toys and other small belongings nearby throughout the process. Visiting your new home and neighborhood prior to moving can also provide your children with a sense of comfort.

Do you move pianos?

Piano relocations require specific knowledge and equipment, both of which are possessed by Miracle Movers. Our minimum rate for piano moving is $125, and is dependent on the size and location of the piano, as well as the size of the moving crew assigned to your project. Contact us with the details of your piano to receive a custom price estimate.

Do you move pets?

No, we recommend that you transport all pets in your own vehicle.

Do you move plants?

Yes, if absolutely necessary, but it is not recommended. Transporting plants across the USA border required specific forms and quarantines, so it can be very troublesome. We are not liable for any damage sustained to plants during transportation.

Do you move perishable foods?

No, perishable foods cannot be safely transported in our moving trucks. We suggest disposing of perishable foods before your move, or transporting them in a cooler in your own car.
